| LA CAGE AUX FOLLES May 8, 2010 Longacer Theater, NYC- Starring Kelsey Grammar this latest revival comes direct from a sold out run in London This revival originated in London where Douglas Hodge, who plays Albin, won the Olivier award (our equivalent of the Tony) for his performance which he'll recreate on Broadway as well. This production is said to be a "stripped-down" version of the show, focusing on the relationships of the two leading men and showing more of the grit and reality of their nightclub in St. Tropez. My favorite element of the show is the absolutely gorgeous score by Jerry Herman including "Look Over There", "I Am What I Am", "Song on the Sand", "With Anne on My Arm" and "The Best of Times"-I mean talk about classics!!.
